Let’s say that the 9/11 attacks were the first major historical event to happen after the ability to see alternate timelines had been discovered.<br><br>What would the effects have been on people who had been watching our world since 2001, knowing that there was another world where it did not happen?<br><br>Would we have become more popular to watch or would people have felt it’s too early to watch us?<br><br>Would 9/11, and the wars that followed, have been an accelerant or a brake in people watching us?<br><br>Given the relative rarity of terrorist attacks in our world, how much of an outlier would we have been in terms of alternate timelines?<br><br>How much would the people watching us from the alternate timelines have been sympathetic to the victims of the attacks, or would they have seen us as a cautionary tale?<br><br>Would the United States have become more popular to watch after the attacks?<br><br>I know that there were conspiracy theories and anti-American sentiment in many countries after the attacks, but how much would that have been in the alternate timelines and how much would that have affected what people saw?<br><br>How would our actions have been judged in light of the knowledge of an alternate timeline?<br><br>Would we have considered the watchers of our timeline to be God-like observers, able to watch our timeline without interfering with it?
