Mediocre men are NOT being pushed out of society by women.

There is this growing trend on places like Twitter, Chambers, and Tiktok where men are complaining that women aren’t making room for them in society, that we don’t value them. I’ve even seen it in the comments here. You’ll see things like, “Why should I work? Women don’t appreciate us anyways.” Or, “Why should I try? Women don’t want a mediocre guy like me.”

I feel like this is just a lot of bullshit. And I say this as a woman who has been told I’m not a “traditional woman” because I don’t want to be a housewife.

It seems like these men are talking about this in the context of dating. It seems like they believe that women are just by default (or should be) happy to date just about anyone. Like, I don’t want to date just anyone. I have standards like most women do. And men do. And that means we aren’t by default going to want to date a mediocre man just because he is as close to an alpha male that we will get.

That being said, I do value men. I think we should value everyone. But this narrative that men are being leaned out of society because women are valuable now is ridiculous.

I don’t get where this attitude is coming from. I have never met a woman who straight up said, “Oh, I don’t value men.” I have seen plenty of men say they don’t value women, but vice versa, nope. I don’t get where this is coming from.
