My (40M) wife (40F) ripped up our divorce papers. I'm confused.

My wife and I were married for 6 years. We had a very tumultuous relationship where we would fight, separate, and then come back together. I'd be lying if I said I didn't make mistakes. I did. But I've always tried very hard to take responsibility for them, apologize sincerely, and try to do better.

I also have been trying to help her with her severe depression and anxiety by supporting her when she's down, taking her to therapy, and making sure she takes her medication. We're both working out together, and things in our relationship have been getting better.

In fact, 3 weeks ago we went on a small weekend getaway to a beach resort. We had a great time, and I thought our relationship was really on the mend. We made love together, went on long walks, and even cuddled.

I arrived home from work yesterday, and my wife told me she wanted a divorce. In fact, she came home from work early, and had already printed up the divorce papers. She put them on the kitchen table and said she was going to file them tomorrow. I was blown away. I tried to plead my case, and she wouldn't listen. I walked upstairs, laid in the bed and cried for a few mins.

About 30 mins later, she came upstairs and apologized. She said she felt like a failure, that she didn't want to divorce me, and I could rip up the papers. I'm grateful for this, but I'm also concerned.

How do I handle this?
