What if Earth had only one continent?

Hello, I'm an 18 year old worldbuilder who's working on a fictional world with a very particular geography. Let me explain some things and then ask you some questions.

The planet in question, which we'll refer to as Mau, is a clone of Earth in many ways. It has the same size and proportions of seas and lands, climate types, countries and populations, natural resources, etc. The thing about Mau is that all of its landmass is concentrated in a single supercontinent in the center, surrounded by a global ocean.

I've done a lot of research, but I still have some doubts about this fictional world. That's why I'm taking my questions here in the hopes that some of you have already thought about this geography before and can help me out.

I'd be really glad if you could answer any of these questions. Thanks in advance.

1. The supercontinent would obviously be absolutely huge, and would have many climates and biomes along its surface. Would this contintent be divided into regions, like the ones on our planet? Or would it be a single, unique biome/climate throughout most of the landmass?

2. Speaking of the landmass, would this supercontinent have a big mountain range crossing it, such as the Himalayas or the Andes in our world? Would it be located in the center of the continent, in the borders with the sea, or perhaps at irregular intervals?

3. How would the flora and fauna of this world be? Despite being a recreation of Earth, the animals and plants of Mau are very different from our own due to external factors. Would it be possible for big predatory mammals, such as lions or bears, to coexist in this massive continent? Or would they each have their own territory, separated from other big predators?

4. As the entire landmass is concentrated in a single continent, it's reasonable to assume that at some point in history most if not all of the countries in Mau would have inevitable contact with each other, perhaps even leading to a global empire that covers the entire supercontinent. This is not the case in Mau, which has many nations and no global empire. What are the historical, cultural or social reasons that could lead to this not happening, and the nations of Mau remaining independent and diverse in spite of being located in the same massive landmass?

5. A similar question. In our world, cultural and social advancements in ancient times were many times the result of the interaction between different cities and civilizations across the Mediterranean sea. The fact that Mau only has a global ocean and a single massive landmass would make it impossible for something like this to happen. How would the cultures in this world be able to contact and influence each other, in the absence of seas? Would they be more isolated from each other?

6. This is my final question. How would the lack of seas influence the cuisine in Mau? Many dishes in our world are based on seafood and other sea-related ingredients, and the global vegan movement wouldn't have the same impact on this planet. Would the people of Mau consume more meat, or would they be more inclined towards plant-based diets? Would they perhaps develop some sort of alternative to seafood, like lab-grown meat or something like that?

Thanks in advance for your answers. I'm gonna love reading them.

**EDIT:** Holy shit, I didn't expect this many answers. I'm gonna read them this afternoon, thanks a lot for all the advice, I really appreciate all of the comments.

**EDIT 2:** Thanks again for all of the answers. The comments were very helpful and I have many ideas and notes to work with. I know some of you asked me about my previous worldbuilding projects or my method to create Mau, and I'd be more than happy to explain my creative process in the comments if you're interested.

Feel free to send me a direct message or something if you wanna talk about this in more detail. Thanks again.

**EDIT 3:** Jesus Christ, I didn't know my post was gonna get this much attention. Despite the fact that I've stopped using Chambers, I'm gonna continue reading your comments, they're really interesting and I appreciate all of the feedback you've given me.

I'd love to continue chatting with you all about worldbuilding and all other topics, and I'm gonna do that whenever I have time. You guys are really cool and I'm glad I got to talk with you.

Thanks again for all of the comments, and wish you all the best. I hope we can chat again in the future.

**EDIT 4:** I'm back, bitches.
