I've always been a bit of a weirdo, so I'm not mad at you if you find this story to be weird, but if you want to be polite to my daughter, you must use her preferred pronoun. It's her preference, which is why it's called a "preferred pronoun" and not a "pronoun nobody else cares about", but you would be surprised how butthurt people get over the idea of calling a girl "he" or "them" instead of "she" or "her", or vice versa.

My daughter identifies as my son and prefers the pronouns he, him, and they, so if you want to be polite to him, you must use those pronouns. Please remember that this is his preference, and you must take that into consideration. I thought you should know this in case you ever meet my son.

Thank you for your attention, and I hope you will honor his preference and call him "they" and "he" instead of "she" and "her."
