"Donald Trump will not be our President," Bette Midler tweeted yesterday. "For a very select group of people."

You get used to seeing this line on Twitter, in various forms, after a night of election results that many didn't see coming.

He's not MY president, some say. I did not vote for him, the logic goes, so he must not represent me.

Some people signed a petition addressed to the Electoral College that calls for them to agree not to vote for Trump on Dec. 19, and instead vote for Hillary Clinton. The petition has over 4.3 million signatures and counting.

Some people even protested in cities around the country - and continue to do so - holding signs that say the same thing.

"No, Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA," a group chanted in New York City on Wednesday night.

Those who invoke this "Not My President" idea clearly are not happy with the results, but are there unintended consequences to this kind of protest?

That's what a lot of Trump voters seem to think, - and with good reason. Such a demonstration from a mass of people could set a terrible precedent that undermines the nation's faith in the democratic system.

If someone signed that letter, they should not be teaching and indoctrinating kids of the nation.
it does not show good sportsmanship and undermines the democratic system.

EDIT: Yes I am a Trump fan. And I know I will get downvoted to oblivion. But I honestly think the movement "Not My President" is very childish and undermines the democratic system.
