So my brother and i almost got kidnapped by a mentally ill man

Hey all, this is my first post ever here so i hope i don't fuck it up. This happened to me when i was about 9, my brother was 11. We'll call my brother Taylor and myself Charlie. <br><br>This took place at a campground my grandfather owned. It's by a river and has a gas station with an arcade. <br><br>So i dont really know what time we were out but it was dark. It was a school night and we were driving to the gas station that's behind our house to buy some candy before we went to bed. <br><br>I'll make it short. We were playing the claw machine for about five minutes and this guy kept walking past us with his hands in his pockets, he was staring at us and he seemed very interested in us. My brother noticed him too and said "who is that guy?" I said "i dont know, hes been looking at us for a while." He walked past us again and i said "lets leave" and my brother said "lets go to the bathroom first." <br><br>So we walk towards the bathroom and this guy comes out of the bathroom and hes still watching us. I said "lets just leave" and my brother said "lets go look at the merchandise and then we'll leave" I said okay. <br><br>As we were leaving the store, this guy walked out and said to us "you two know where i can get a hotel room around here? We said "yeah, theres one just down the street, you passed it. And another one way back past walgreens." <br><br>He said "oh, you guys have no idea where i can go to get a hotel room?" Im shaking at this point and said "yeah, thats all i know." <br><br>This man then said "well would i be able to stay at your house?" I dont know it was just something about this man that put something in my head. I said to him "no, my dad wont let you." <br><br>He then said "oh, well i can only stay one night. I'll be out of here in the morning." I said "i already told you no!" He then said "okay, well can i at least talk to your dad then?" <br><br>I shook my head and said yes. I grabbed my brother and walked towards house, this man followed us. As we were walking down the hill towards house, my dad is outside and hes setting up the lights on the Christmas tree. <br><br>This man walked up to my dad and said "hi sir, im looking for a hotel room to stay in. Mind if i stay on your property for just one night?" <br><br>My dad looks at me and my brother and we shook our heads. He said "no" This man said "well i dont have much money so ill only be here for one night." <br><br>My dad said "no, you cannot stay on my property." This man then said "here, let me give you something. I can pay you little if thats what you want." <br><br>My dad said "no, you cannot stay anywhere on my property. Please leave." This man looked fucking pissed! He looked at me and my brother and shook his head. <br><br>He then said "fuck you" and walked away and down the street. My dad said to me and my brother "what did he say to you outside?" I told him what he said and he got mad. <br><br>He called my mom and said "just turned down a man who wanted to stay on our property, hes outside at the gas station. Just be careful." <br><br>A few days went by and the cops havent caught the man. We werent aware of it at the time but, there were little girls and boys missing and people were spreading awareness. <br><br>We werent aware of any of this because we didnt have the internet. <br><br>So one day, me my dad and my mom go outside to check the cameras. We walk outside and all of the cameras were broken. I thought this was weird because they were up high and it was impossible to get to them. <br><br>Well once we got inside and looked at the footage, we noticed that the cameras went out at the same time. It was weird because usually when the cameras go out, they just go out one at a time. <br><br>We decided to look back at the footage and fast forward it. Once we Fast forwarded until we got to where the cameras went out, we noticed a man. <br><br>All we could see was the guy in a black hoodie walking across the cameras. <br><br>We decided to look further back and see when he first appeared on the cameras. We noticed he was walking down the road. <br><br>We looked at the footage from the next camera up and noticed he was walking to the gas station. We looked again at the next camera and he was now standing next to the gas pumps. <br><br>So we kept looking at each camera and noticed he was walking down the road towards our house. <br><br>This freaked us out so we called the cops. They came and took our footage and said "get a restraining order on whoever this is." <br><br>So me and my dad go to the courthouse and we get a restraining order on the man. So we come back home and my dad gets the cameras back up. <br><br>I go to bed and my mom is still awake. She opens my door and says "Charles, theres a man at the door. So i get out of bed and look through the window and we notice its the man again. <br><br>My mom calls the cops immediately and the man smashes the window. We run to my parents room and my dad grabs a baseball bat and goes outside. <br><br>I dont know what happened but he said the man ran away. The cops came and they looked for him but they never found him. <br><br>Well, this all happened in 2005 and i still have not seen this man again yet.
