Is it moral to let one person die to save 100 people?

I've recently heard a few interviews with physicists and they've said if they were in a situation where they could save 100 people by sacrificing one person, they would do it. <br>They said they don't want to let 100 people die in order to save one person and called that selfish.<br><br>What is your take on this?
