The guy who didn't exist

This is my first and last post here as I'm not really good with words. Also, English is not my native language, so I apologize if there's anything weird grammatically or otherwise.

This event happened in 2016 when I (17f) went to my aunt's place. Before we proceed any further, you guys should know that I don't like to be alone in dark places (which, of course, is partly the reason this is posted here). My aunt lived in a housing estate in the countryside (Italy, in this case) and that place was almost abandoned. I'm nor sure for what, but all those houses were built like in the 70s I guess. They looked old and that place wasn't maintained at all. I remember the atmosphere was pretty weird almost like in "Stranger Things" or something like that.

The house itself was two floors high. My aunt lived downstairs with her daughter (my cousin). Her son (my other cousin) lived upstairs. My aunt's house had a big backyard like most of houses have in the countryside. The backyard was full of trees and a garden my aunt used to grow veggies and fruits. I remember that from the garden you could easily enter the house through the basement. But I don't think that the basement door was locked. The thing that I still can't get that how the basement was opened so easily from the outside. I mean, you just needed to open the wooden door, to be able to enter the house. I'm not pleading or justifying what happened but I'm just stating that it was so easy to enter the house from the outside.

So let's proceed to the weirdest part of this story. As I told you that I don't like to be alone in dark places much, I asked my aunt to take out the light bulb from the hallway so that I could get used to darkness. The light bulbs were gone for the whole week I was there. Also, my aunt worked until 2 pm and I was alone at home at that time. I remember that I was in the living room watching TV when I saw a "shadowy figure" (I don't know how to describe it, but it was tall and extremely skinny) from the corner of my eye close to the hallway. I jumped that high in my seat almost like when you see a ghost in horror movies. It scared the hell out of me. I felt a cold breeze, I don't know if it was because of the air conditioning, but that moment was so surrealistic. I felt a goosebump in my whole body. I looked back the hallway, but nobody was there. I waited for 10 minutes staring at the hallway and still, there was nobody. My aunt arrived, I told her the whole story from beginning to end, but she just smiled it off and moved on. I thought that I was the only one who experienced this weird scene but when I told my cousins about the same thing, they almost fainted.

That day, my aunt's son arrived and he asked me to show him where I saw that "person". I took him to the living room and I remember that he was super thrilled and excited almost like he was waiting for something to happen. I showed him where I saw the "person" and he asked me if I was scared. I didn't answer and he smiled. He told me and my cousins to get ready to sleep almost like he was waiting for something to happen. At that time, I thought that maybe there was some existing ghost or something because it was so weird.

I remember that we all were in the living room, my aunt, her husband (my uncle), and my cousins. I didn't see my aunt's son at that time. When everybody was in the living room, I went to the hallway (I have no idea why I decided to do that) and guess what I saw? "The same figure" from before. Now when I think about this, I'm almost certain that it was the same person that I saw before because the figure was wearing the same "dresses" almost like he was copying someone or something. I was frozen for a moment and because of that "freeze" I wasn't able to go back to the living room and warn them. The "person" was moving slowly towards the living room. I could see my family talking and laughing and I could also see that "person" walking slowly towards them. I was frozen and I didn't move almost like when you're in shock. Everything was in slow motion. I think that my family didn't see him because my aunt's son's room was in between the hallway and living room so maybe that's why they didn't see him.

I didn't move and I didn't say anything because I was still frozen. I felt something hitting me in the stomach and I almost fainted because of that pain. Then, I felt a hand on my face almost like someone was slapping me. When I woke up, my aunt was holding me in her arms. She was screaming at that almost like she lost her mind. She was telling something to my uncle and cousins but I didn't hear it clearly. I remember that my uncle was holding the door (I don't know from where that door was from) but the door was partly broken. My aunt was crying and telling me that I passed out in the hallway so my uncle was trying to open the door so that he could take me to the hospital.

I had no idea what was all that commotion about. I was still in shock and I didn't hear clearly that my aunt's son was "dead". He jumped himself from the cliff. I remember that my uncle was holding the door, when I saw the same "person" from the hallway, again. I was still in shock and that "person" was again in my sight. I remember that my uncle was holding the door because my aunt's son jumped from the cliff. I remember that my uncle was holding the door for some reason and the door wasn't broken from the inside but from outside instead. Then I remember that the same "person" that I saw was almost like my aunt's son. He was exactly the same. I'm not joking. From height to weight, from hair color to eye color, from face structure to anything almost like he was his copy, his doppelganger.

I was still in shock because I could see my aunt's son from the broken door that my uncle was holding. Then uncle closed the door and I remember that the "person" was hitting the door like he wanted to enter the house. I woke up in my bed next day, and everything went perfectly fine after that. I stayed in my bed for the rest of my stay there and I didn't come out because I was too scared. I didn't tell that to my family, I told that I wasn't feeling good (which was kind of partly true). I didn't tell them anything about that "person" because two days before my departure my aunt took me to the cliff where her son jumped. His body was never found nor identified. I think that maybe he's still alive. And when my aunt took me to the cliff, again I saw the same "person" that I was talking about. I didn't tell her, but I felt a goosebump and cold breeze when I saw him. I don't know what's going on almost like my aunt's son's spirit was living in that place. I never went to that place again. In fact, I never visited Italy again. I have no idea what to think about this whole scene that I experienced. I'm still perplexed about it.

The whole scene was so surrealistic. I don't know if it was just my paranoia, hallucination, or anything but it was damn real for me. I don't know if my aunt's son was the same person that I saw but the resemblance was damn almost identical. I can't post anything more after this post so if you have any questions regarding this whole story, please ask me.
