AITA for telling my mom the reason why my daughter doesn't want to see her?

I got pregnant with my daughter, Kate, when I was 16. It was a surprise, I wasn't even dating her father. I grew up with very conservative parents. My mom was hoping I'd wait until I got married to "lose my virginity" (I'll never forget those words). I had been sexually active since I was 14.

When she found out I was pregnant, she was devastated. She never hid it. I felt I'd let her down. I'd embarrassed her by getting knocked up at 16. She wanted me to give her up for adoption. I didn't want to do it. She forgave me even though she still made it clear that she wasn't happy. I think she wanted to be a grandma even less than I wanted to be a teen mom.

But she helped me. She took care of me when I was sick during my pregnancy, she went to my doctor appointment with me, she helped me set up my room for Kate and she was even there for me when I gave birth.

But whenever she did all of these things, she reminded me that she only did it for Kate and not for me. She didn't want her grandchild growing up with an uninvolved grandmother. As soon as Kate was born, my mom began to spend more time with Kate than me. And at the time, I didn't care much because I was so tired from raising my baby girl. It hurt growing up knowing she resented me for changing her plans but I can't blame her. She was supposed to send me to college. She was supposed to be the mother of a child, not a grandmother.

But as Kate grew older, I started to notice she'd ignore her. Kate would try talking to her and she'd respond curtly. Kate was confused, she asked me why my mom treated her coldly. I told her it was probably because she was upset that I ruined her plans. Kate was really upset, she kept saying she didn't want to live with us anymore.

I told mom we had to talk as a family. We needed to clear the air. Mom denied she treated Kate poorly, Kate told mom she didn't want to live with her because she didn't like the way she was treated. Mom didn't say anything, she just sat in silence, then she got up and left. We haven't spoken since. She calls me sometimes to say hi to Kate but usually she'd give me some passive aggressive comment before hanging up.

Kate is 11 now and she won't go to visit my mom. Mom kept calling me asking why Kate was so distant, why she didn't want to see her. I told her Kate felt unwanted.

"This is a lie." Mom said.

"It's not. You treated her coldly. She grew up thinking you hated her." I said.

"You're poisoning her mind! Why are you doing this?"

"I'm just telling her the truth, mom."

"Well stop it, or else."

"Or else what? You'll cut me out of your will? You'll kick me out? I've been an embarrassment to you for years. I'm not going to lose sleep over what you have to say about me. Kate is old enough to make decisions, she doesn't want to see you."

"I'm your mother, I won't be treated like this!" She yelled.

"You're my mother but you're not Kate's grandmother! If you want to see her, then show her you're not a cold person! Otherwise, get used to her ignoring you."

She hung up on me.

The next day, her husband called me to see what was going on. I told him the same thing. He said mom was going to call the police and report me for parent alienation. I told him he needed to believe his own eyes. Kate didn't want to see her because she hated being treated like she was in the way.

He hung up on me.

They haven't called me since.
