Why didn't the rest of the world supply aid and weapons to the Vietnamese during the Vietnam War?

The Vietnam War lasted from 1955-75 with the US and South Vietnam on one side and the North, Chinese and Soviets on the other. There were also other participants like the Australians, Koreans, the Philippines etc. Vietnam was being attacked and invaded by the communists and foreign powers yet it received little support.
