best way to prepare for the singularity and AI era?

This is an interesting question that I was asked recently, a highschooler that is 16 years old asked me as a software engineer what's the best way to prepare for the singularity or the era of AI. Not sure what to say, so I said it's hard and difficult to do this work. But wondering what you think, how do you prepare? you just get a job in AI if you're in tech? What if you're in another field? I'm not sure what to tell this person.
