My (29F) Husband (31M) has been cancelled for being a jerk to a woman at a bar. I have to get him out of this internet lynch mob.

We went out to a bar/restaurant to meet with some people (I'll call them Sam and Alex, both mid-twenties for later). Alex and I have been friends since high school, and Sam I met through Alex. Sam is dating Alex.

While at the bar we were having a great time, laughing and joking around. My husband orders a beer and the bartender asks for ID. I don't really have a problem with this, I've had my ID asked for at bars as well even though I'm in my late twenties. My husband didn't bring his ID, so he tells the bartender "I'm not giving you my ID, I'm 31 years old." and the bartender says "I don't care if you're 100, if you don't give me your ID I won't serve you." So then my husband goes on this whole schtick about "I bet if you were a guy you wouldn't be asking" and "Do you need to see my dick to prove I'm a guy?" And then the bartender, who I think was around 23 or so, goes "Oh my god, I can't even serve you now." And then my husband asks to speak to her manager.

I'm sitting here through the whole thing going "My. God." We're obviously all very embarrassed and the manager comes out and asks my husband to leave. As soon as we get out of the bar my husband is met with a wall of people telling him he was being sexist and inappropriate. Sam and Alex both go off on him. I'm sitting here in utter disbelief. Then we get in the car and we're driving away and I tell him I don't even know what to say and he tells me to shut up and drive.

After this whole thing is over I thought it was water under the bridge and moved on, until I saw on Chambers that the bartender posted the whole thing. I go read the post thinking nothing of it, it was a simple "My worst customer" post. That is, until I saw my husband's face in the post. I scroll up and see the comment from the bartender "EDIT: The guy commented on here, if you want to see who he is go to the profile of this account" and lo and behold there's my husband's profile picture staring back at me. Further digging revealed that the bartender gave my husband's real name to a bunch of people on Twitter and now there's a mob outside his office and he's getting death threats and hate mail.

I am utterly speechless. Am I just overreacting to this whole situation?

EDIT: I should also add that my husband has a history of getting in fights with people and ruining relationships. We're on the path to an ugly divorce.

EDIT 2: HOLY COW. I just walked outside the house to go to the grocery store and there's a news reporter standing in the yard and a whole crowd of people. I got in my car to drive away and they started following me.
