Kyrsten Sinema on Thursday said she will not vote to weaken the filibuster, as some have urged her to do in order to pass voting rights legislation.<br><br>"The reality is that, when you have a system that's not working effectively for either party, you have to sit down and figure out how to make it work." Sinema said at a Senate committee hearing Thursday. "It will not, however, be a solution to eliminate the filibuster."<br><br>Sinema, a moderate Democrat from Arizona, said "If anyone doubts that, simply look at what happened after the Supreme Court gutted the voting rights act. If anyone doubts that, simply look at what happened after the Citizens United decision."
