Let me say that I do love my students with all my heart but its come to my realization that kids are getting dumber. I’m only 28 and I’m seeing huge declines in intelligence and intersection and skills in general in my kindergarten students over the past 5-6 years. They cannot socially interact with each other properly, lack empathy, cannot problem solve, almost all of them have some sort of behavior problem or delay. They are not capable of doing even the most basic things on their own. I am a kindergarten teacher for example and almost all of my students cannot wash their hands on their own, tie their shoes, use scissors, glue, tear paper, open their snacks, and on and on. I’m realizing every week more and more how dumb over here Americans are compared to the rest of the world. I used to think it was just the education system until I started seeing this. Many kids are not capable of being left home alone in kindergarten. Like that just makes me sad for our country. We just seem dumber and dumber and I don’t see it getting any better. Same with parents, the parents also seem dumber too.

Edit: never in my dream would I ever call a child stupid. That is not what this post is about. All kids are capable of learning and all kids are extremely smart, its how kids are being raised that is different these days. Putting a phone in front of a 2 year old instead of reading them books and playing with them is going to make a big difference in their intelligence. Not to mention how shitty food is these days, the state of the environment, and how dads (mainly) are out to sea at all times and wont lift a finger to do anything for their child.

Edit #2: I think this post really hit home for a lot of people. It has been very eye opening that everyone is thinking the same. It’s not just me and that’s crazy.
