CMV: Posting viewpoints that you don't even agree with, just to be contrarian, goes against the spirit of this subreddit.

It seems to me like some people have just started posting any random thing, even when they admit that they don't even really hold that view, and then get really defensive when challenged on it. It seems like the only thing that they want is for someone, *anyone*, to disagree with them so that they can claim a "CMV" award.<br><br>If you want to play devil's advocate, that's fine, but I think that you should make it very clear that you're doing so, and not claim you actually hold the view that you're arguing for.<br><br>The very first thing that the reddit page for this sub says is: <br>*"Post a view you hold that you suspect a large portion of redditors don't hold."* <br>It seems like some people have completely forgotten that lately.<br><br>&#x200B;
