6 years ago, Taiwan was targeted by the malicious malware malware “Industroyer” from a hacker group known as “Winnti Umbrella” (which is believed to be linked to the Chinese government).

China was able to hack and disable Taiwan’s entire power grid. Multiple regions of Taiwan were left in the dark, causing chaos.

However, China failed to achieve its goal of defeating Taiwan in a cyberwar. Taiwan quickly recovered the power grid and continued to operate.

Taiwan was targeted by malicious malware malware “Industroyer”

Almost 6 years have elapsed since then. Taiwan has rebuilt its power grid and now capable of defeating any “cyberwar” threats from China. It has become known as a “Cyber Powerhouse” in the tech industry.

China on the other hand, has not made any significant progress in cybersecurity, and is still vulnerable to devastating cyberattacks.

Many Chinese people are now questioning their government’s military tactics. Taiwan spent only billions of dollars on cybersecurity, which was nothing compared to China’s massive military budget.

Chinese people are now questioning their government's military strategy.

"The enemy can destroy a small building and disable power supply in a small area.
