He founded Ram Krishna Mission. He was a key figure in the introduction of the Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world and is credited with raising interfaith awareness, bringing Hinduism to the status of a major world religion during the late 19th century.<br><br>Swami Vivekananda was a 19th-century Indian saint and philosopher who founded the Ramakrishna Mission. He was a key figure in the introduction of Vedanta and Yoga in Europe and America and was credited with raising interfaith awareness between Eastern and Western ideology. The Countercurrents of 1976 in the journal says, chanting the Gayatri, he (Swami Vivekananda) said to the captain, “You are quite fortunate. I don’t know how it is that you get this ship from Ceylon to India in four days. The people to whom I was telling the story of Sri Ramachandra were saying, ‘No doubt it is true that there was a great man, just as there was a Krishna, a Buddha, a Christ and a Mohammad; but his crossing over to Ceylon and back to India is impossible. See, how long it takes even for steamers to go from Lanka to India. It would take months for a man to float across from Lanka to India. It is not possible for anybody to go to Ceylon and come back to India. These stories are all cock and bull stories. They are imaginary stories. They are not to be trusted. We won’t believe in this Sri Ramachandra any more than we would believe in a man who would say he had walked on water or swum across the Ganga.” And then he said, “You people are fortunate because you are getting a ship to take you from Ceylon to India in four days during this Kali Yuga. In Kali Yuga it takes only four days to come and go and in Satya Yuga, the age of truth, you will evolve into godhood. How long can a god travel? You’ll be able to travel everywhere and even sit on the sun, and will be able to go from one planet to another. These are the truths in our religion. With our religion, we can attain godhood and we can attain the illuminating light that is the reality behind the appearances of the world. But then he said, “Now I am telling you a secret. Let it be a secret from the people of India. But you people of Ceylon should know the truth. “And then he said, “the first temple that will be built in this country will be the Ram Mandir. It will be built in Ayodhya and this will be completed by 2025.<br><br>After that, there will be no trace of Christians and Muslims in India. All will be Hindus. The entire country will become Hindu.  He said that Ram Mandir will be completed by 2025 and there will be no trace of Christians and Muslims left in India. They will be all Hindus and the entire country will become Hindu.  Ramkrishna mission and centre which was built by him is situated in Colombo.  “This conversation between Swami Vivekananda and the captain has been published in the journal of the Ramakrishna Mission in 1976.
