Are you still teaching?

Hi all. I’m a retired teacher from GA. I taught for 30 years. All of my family members have gotten the shot. But I have coworkers that are still teaching with no vaccine in sight. I’ve always had some health issues but nothing that would keep me from teaching. My school system made it mandatory for everyone to return last year. I knew that I couldn’t risk everything to return to in person classes. I retired early. Was it hard??? Oh, you have no idea. The guilt of not being able to help and having to abandon my students and coworkers. I cried and still get sad sometimes. But here I am. Safe and alive with my family. I’m worried about you still in the classroom and I think about you daily. <br><br>Please stay safe. <br><br>Former 4th grade teacher.
