It's a very long story so bear with me.

So I work in this big box store and I got to know a lot of my co workers over time. We all gossip about each other and care a lot for this one girl who has big breasts but is a "good person" and our manager who is a "bad person". I'm pretty sure everyone knows about the kind of talk I'm talking about if they've worked in a job where there's a lot of employees.
Anyway.

So there was this one guy at the store. He started off working the floors like me. He's a great guy. No complaints at all. I always see him talking to other co workers at lunch and they seem like they get along with him.

One time, I was really tired that day so I took a nap in the break room. I woke up to the sound of the TV on and this guy was sitting at the table, still in his uniform, just watching the news. He told me he was off the clock but he stays sometimes because he doesn't like going home. That's all the info I need to know, I don't want to know ANYTHING else about someone's personal lives.

Ever since then, I never saw him working the floors again. I assumed he asked to work in the back. That's all I thought about him from then on.

It wasn't until one of his old floor coworkers started talking about him that I learned he was in management and was in charge of loss prevention. He does everything when it comes to shoplifting, he's the one who reviews the cameras and figures out where they are, he's the one who makes the call on sending someone out in their car to catch the thief. I didn't even know they did that but I've seen it a few times and wondered.

So he catches a whole group of people one day. Everyone in the group was shoplifting and he caught all of them. He confronted them, called the police, and they all got arrested and charged. Big loss prevention win.

But then, one of the people in that group was found a few days later, dead and decomposed in a ditch next to the highway. One of our cameras has a view of the highway where the body was found. So my coworker decides to go through that camera, and he sees the person who was arrested for shoplifting walking down the road with what looked like a sack over his shoulder, but the police said they didn't find anything like a sack when the body was discovered.

Did this guy walk down the road with the dead body over his shoulder? But no one else was arrested, and no one else was reported missing. Even if they were strangers, wouldn't they have reported the guy if he was walking around with a dead body?

The police never figured it out but my coworker quit his job the next day. The rumor mill says it's because of this incident. But I'm wondering if he actually killed someone and is burying the body and got stop loss prevention duties so he could avoid getting caught.

There's a lot of other shady shit about him but it's just rumors so I won't share what other people think they've heard.

Anyway, I hope we never meet on a dark road

Edit: I feel like I need to mention that what happened to the guy who got arrested happened AFTER he got released from jail. He wasn't bailed out and killed the same night he got arrested.

Also, this whole thing happen before this year but I'm not saying any specific dates so you're all good
