{Update} My ex asked me to come over while his girlfriend is out of town

So I ended up going to dinner with my ex. It was really good and really weird. He’s not the same person anymore just like I’m not the same and it’s clearly not going to work.<br><br>I asked him if he thought we could date again and he got very uncomfortable, and said he thinks we can’t and that he was overreacting about his gf not wanting him to see me again. He didn’t say much about her, so I asked him if she’s nice and he said she is, and that she never took to me. He said she’s very outspoken and is not afraid to say what she means. So I imagine she’s probably some goth girl who’s very confident and outspoken.<br><br>We talked a little more and he didn’t have much to say. I told him I miss him and that I’ve missed him this whole time and I just wish things had stayed the way they were. He didn’t have much to say and just said he thought we could be friends. I said ok and told him I was going to miss him terribly. He hugged me for a long time and then I left.<br><br>It’s so sad because at one point we were so happy together and even if it was all because of the love for each other, it was a good feeling. I just wonder what I did wrong for him to think I’m not enough. I didn’t even realize I was already crying until he wiped a tear from my face. At least he apologized and said he’s sorry he hurt me and that he’ll never forget the good times we had. And at least I’m able to see him again and I’ll tell him I still love him and that I always will.
