I'm 100% sure one of my friends is a cop

I was at the gym, and my friend is in law enforcement (Sherrif's department iirc), and he gave me his gym membership card so I didn't have to pay to get in to use the weights. I was using it, and one of the employees came in and asked me to verify some information on my "account", which was fake info. I told him it wasn't mine, and that a friend was letting me use his card. Then, another employee came in and started talking to the first one in hushed tones, and the one who was talking to me had a confused look on his face. The other one radioed for someone to come in to talk to me, and I was like "fuck". Not trying to get arrested, so I just said "yeah, it's my card, I forgot my information". I feel like I just dodged a bullet, and I'm really suspicious that it was a test. Nobody is that stupid at their job, and how did they not have any record of his gym membership?
