I'm so fucking glad my school had a lockdown today

A kid in my grade shot himself in the head in the middle of the hallway today. It was right before lunch, and somehow, a bunch of the students and teachers were in the cafeteria, and not near where the incident happened. I don't know how they did it, but somehow the school administration got everyone into a lockdown before the incident happened, and kept students from coming out of their classrooms until the cops got there. I don't know how many students they saved, but I'm so fucking glad they did it. The kid is alive, and he's going to court, and recovery, and I'm just so glad that nobody else is hurt. That could have ended like so many other shootings at US schools have.

Edit: Just to be clear, I wasn't there, and have no idea why he did what he did. I do know that this wasn't something he planned for a long time. He had a post on his social media account (which I did not see) saying that he was going to do this, with a location, time, and everything, and it was only about an hour before the incident happened. From what I heard, the school administration saw it before it was taken down, and that's how they got everyone in their classrooms. I'm so glad that whoever posted that did, because it probably saved so many lives.

Also, I do know that this wasn't a suicide attempt. He told the police that he was aiming for different students when he fired. He missed, and shot himself in the leg.
