Hey men, the reason your dads and grandpas don’t get the “equality” part of feminism is because you don’t either.

So here’s the thing- you men, even those of you on our side, don’t get it when we say “oh, it’s not men VS women it’s patriarchy VS women.” Maybe you’ll even call yourself a feminist, maybe you’ll use feminist language and use it right, but you do not get what that means. <br><br>You do not understand that it isn’t about men, that it isn’t a gynocentric movement that is about women and ONLY women. You do not understand that it isn’t about you. You do not understand that equality is not about women winning, it’s about patriarchy losing. <br><br>You do not understand that a man hating patriarchy is no different from a woman hating patriarchy. You do not understand that you are a patriarchal product and a part of patriarchy just like your dads and your grandpas and every man who has ever lived. You do not understand that you are complicit in your own oppression as a man just as much as you are complicit in our oppression as women. <br><br>You do not understand that the reason feminism isn’t a mainstream, widely accepted movement is because it is just as threatening to you as a man as it is to your dad and your grandpa. It’s threatening because you have never lived in a society where men aren’t superior to women. You have never lived in a society where you aren’t complicit in that oppression, where you are not an accessory to patriarchy. <br><br>You do not understand that your desire to help is not the same as your desire to fix the problem. You do not understand that you lied to yourselves and to us when you said you were on our side. You are not on our side, you are on your own side. You want to help us because you want to be a hero, you want to be a gendernone (?) knight in shining armor saving the damsel in distress. And when we refuse your help, when we tell you you are not a hero and that you have no place in this movement, you turn on us. <br><br>You turn on us because you did not realize that feminism, to you, was just a way to get your dick sucked and your ego stroked. You did not realize that feminism was not about your or for your benefit. You did not realize that when we say “it isn’t about men” we mean it’s not for men’s benefit. We are not here to help you, we are not here to comfort you, we are not here to validate you. <br><br>We are not here for you, and you hate that. You hate that we are not here to serve you like every other woman in your life. You hate that we do not want you, that we refuse to be your girlfriend or your wife or your mother or your sister or your friend. You hate that we do not want to make you happy, that we do not want you to feel like a hero. <br><br>And so you turn on us. You turn on us the same way your dads and your grandpas did, the same way every man has ever turned on us. You turn on us because you hate that we refuse to be subservient to you, that we refuse to obey you.<br><br>So no, I do not want your help. I do not want you as an ally. I do not want you to be my friend, I do not want you to be my savior, I do not want you to be my hero. I want you to get out of my way and die.
