I met a predator... even though I wasn't who he was looking for

**Update: a good amount of people asked what happened to the other girl**

Unfortunately I do not know who she was. When I saw the post, I did some research but I do not know the name of the girl who was kidnapped from the mall in 1987. I also contacted the original detective on the case and I spoke with him briefly a few years ago. He too was unaware of a similar case happening in the late 80s. I also called the police department in my city a few years back asking to see the incident report but they said it was too old to still have on file. I searched microfilm in the local newspaper archives and only found a blurb about the incident without any additional details. I know her family is looking for her (I found an old post from her mom). I have given my DNA to ancestry.com in the hopes that they may have found her DNA somewhere and it would be a match since we do share a DNA strand. I also know of a few other similar incidents happening around that time at that mall so it is possible this guy had done it multiple times.

**Original post:**

I want to preface this by saying I do not know what happened to the girl... but the predator. Unfortunately I know who he is.

Jamie Lynn Noling, if you are reading this I hope you get your answers soon and I am so, so sorry I didn't know what was going on.

I was 3 years old at the time and it was a weekday night (I'm sure it was a school night). It was probably around 7pm. I'm not a mall person but my mom used to take me to the food court because she knew they had chopsticks and I was obsessed with them.

I'm sure it's happened to a lot of parents before, and I know it happened to my mom. She stopped for literally a second, and I was gone. She yelled for me, she looked around, she asked around.. I wasn't there.

Then she saw me - at the end of the hallway down by the Sak's Fifth Avenue entrance - with a man walking away from her. She was probably about 60-80 feet away. In her mind, she took off running but in reality she was just moving at a regular pace.

The man reached down and grabbed me by the collar and through me over his shoulder.

She said she screamed at the top of her lungs "that is my daughter!"

Other people started screaming "that's not your daughter!"

He said he was my dad but no one believed him. He said "don't I look like her?" And even though we resembled each other, no one believed him. He said "how dare you!" And ran out of the door.

The good Samaritans chased him out into the parking lot. When he got to his car, he threw me in the back seat.

The good Samaritans took down his license plate number and wrote it on his car.

He drove off with me in the car. He said to me "you aren't Jamie Lynn, who are you?" I confirmed to him I wasn't and started to cry. He took me back to the mall.

My mom was sitting on a bench, surrounded by mall cops, bawling her eyes out and shaking. I walked up to her and she was crying even harder. The mall cops wanted to find the guy who kidnapped me but she just wanted to take me home and forget the whole thing ever happened.

I never forgot what happened that night. I never forgot what the guy looked like. It stuck in my mind and imageSize to Mind even when I was an adult. 10-15 years later, I started to casually try to find information about Jamie Lynn but it was too common. I tried searching missing persons lists. Nothing. I searched all of the local missing persons websites. Nothing.

Then a few months ago I was on TikTok. I came across someone talking about an incident where a guy kidnapped a little girl.

I knew immediately who it was. Jamie Lynn.

I watched a bunch of videos and read articles. There is a podcast. Reddit threads. Facebook groups.

The man who kidnapped me is Jeremy Irvin. He kidnapped Jamie Lynn and then she went missing and was never seen again. He is in jail right now for assault with a deadly weapon. When he gets out a few months, he will be retried for Jamie Lynn's kidnapping.

I fully believe he killed her.

And I know I wasn't who he was looking for.
