Six years ago I gave my wife the most precious gift I could give her, and she wants it back now.

\------------TIL DEATH DO US PART------------

Six years ago, my wife lost her twin brother in a car accident. It was a hard time for her, as you can imagine, but she bounced back fairly quickly. Before she did though, she came to me with a request. She told me that she was scared of dying alone, and wanted her brothers remains cremated and put under her skin. She said that she wanted to be buried with him inside her, and that she wanted to be able to take him everywhere with her. She showed me an image of what she wanted online, and I agreed almost immediately.

We decided on a heart shaped urn, implanted in her forearm. It was a simple process, and one that I never thought I'd regret.

Fast forward 6 years. Yesterday while we were cooking dinner, my wife started talking about the implant again. Out of nowhere, she said she wanted it taken out, and cremated. Then she said she wanted to scatter his ashes into the ocean.

I was shocked. We've had a handful of fights about the implant, but this was the first time that she has wanted it removed. I told her that I disagreed, and that I would rather die than let it be removed, and we had our biggest fight since our wedding.

She wants it removed, and I don't. Should I let her do it? Or should I stand by what we agreed on originally?

EDIT: I understand that this is a touchy subject for some people. Please be respectful as you can.

EDIT 2: For those of you asking why I would refuse to let her get it removed, I feel as though she is disrespecting her brother. When she asked me for the implant, she told me that she wanted to be buried with it, and never be without it. I agreed to this, and now that she has changed her mind, I refuse to let her have it removed due to the promise we both made together.

EDIT 3: Everybody who is telling me to let her have it removed because it's her body and it was her decision to get it in the first place, is not allowed to post on this thread anymore. I warned you once.

EDIT 4: I do not care if this sounds insensitive, but if I am to die before my wife, I will haunt her until she puts the implant back in, and until she is buried with it.

EDIT 5: I have removed some comments due to the nature of them being too personal. Do not comment on my wife or my past in a negative way.

EDIT 6: I am no longer answering anymore questions. I have answered enough, and I know what I am going to do. Thank you to everyone who helped me.
