What does that mean?

13% annualized rate is basically the rate of growth of the global economy.

If you don't know what "annualized" means, imagine you put $1 in a bank that compounds with 13% interest. After a year, you will have $1.13. After two years, you will have $1.13*1.13. After 10 years, you will have a hell of a lot of money.

So 13% annualized rate means that the economy DOUBLES every 5 years.

This is why when you're 5, the world is entirely new to you. And when you're 10, you know a lot more, so the world is less magical. The world is so much less magical when you're 50. And that's why old people don't get that the world is changing like crazy. It's just not as magical to them as it is to someone who is 5.

We've had two paradigm shifts in the past.

1st paradigm shift: The agricultural revolution.

2nd paradigm shift: The industrial revolution.

And we're having a 3rd paradigm shift: The AI revolution.

The first one happened in ~4000 BCE. The second one in ~1800 CE. And the third one is happening now.

In other words, we're in the 1920s of the third revolution.
