What is Mikaila Cotton? And why is she in my class?

For the past few weeks I've been getting emails from Mikaila Cotton with some of my students' emails on them. I figured she was a parent or another student who I didn't know about. As I get more of these emails, I wanted to find out who she was. I went to one of my student's parents opening power point that I was given at meet the teacher and found her email address. The email is listed as a grade parent email so I emailed her back and CC'd myself.<br>She emails back saying that she's a student in my class. I tell her that she's not a student in my class. She sends me a screenshot from my student information system that shows my name as her teacher. I call the registrars office and they say that she's never registered at our school. I call the school counselor and have her look up the student and her response is "She's never registered at the school." Our student information system is overwriting my students information with her information and it's getting her emails. Everything that my student needs to function this year is associated with her email. His new student email is associated with her email. His school email is getting all the email from his classes and none of them are new. His new student email is getting everything that his classes need him to have.<br>Has anyone else ever encountered this? What did you do to resolve it?
