This happened mid 2018 while I was working in a city in southern portugal.

I was on a studio guesthouse 2 levels above ground. I have no idea what happened with guesthouse B which is why they came to guesthouse A. The building had 2 studios one in the front and one in the back. I was in studio B. The building was such with guesthouse A right at the entrance and guesthouse B across the neighbors with guesthouse A neighbors and with its back to guesthouse C.

The guesthouses also had a little backyard that went along the side of guesthouse B. The door for this backyard was in the wall between guesthouse A and B and had 2 fences closing the small space in the sides. The backyards were separated by waist high wooden fences and each backyard with with its back to the guesthouse. You could get into guesthouse B from the backyard and vice versa.

This happened in mid 2018 while I was in mid high school. During this time, I would have a school every morning from 10:00AM to 1:00 PM and then work in the afternoon 2:00PM - 4:30PM.

Every morning I would wake up at 9:00 AM, get ready and go to school. I would leave the house with guesthouse with guesthouse B's back door open. I would close the guesthouse B's front door and close it but not lock it. I didn't have a key for the backyard door but it was also always closed but not locked.

One day during class, I realized I had no phone. I checked my school bag, searched my school desk and realized I had left it at home. I told my teacher I had to go to the bathroom which she said was alright. I stood up and told the girl next to me I was leaving class. She looked at me weird and asked why but I told her can I talk to you outside. We went to the hallways away from the classes and I told her I had left my phone at home and I was going to go pick it up. She looked at me weird and told me to be careful that she had seen a weird man with a red hat walking around my house when she went to walk her dog. I realized I had no one I could trust at home, no family in this city and no phone. I couldn't even tell my teacher with all the classmates staring. Before telling her I was leaving I had told her I was going to the bathroom and I didn't want the class to get suspicious.

I left the school and ran back home. I was so anxious and not thinking straight. I would have just left my phone behind had I been thinking but I was terrified of being caught by my parents.

I walked across the street and looked at the guesthouse A's backyard. Everything seemed normal. I ran across the street into the backyard B. I opened with with a bit of force and ran across the backyard B and inside the house. I locked the front door but didn't bother closing the backyard door because I was in a rush.

I grabbed my school bag and ran to the backyard. I opened the backyard door and guesthouse A's backyard door was open and there were 2 men in the yard. 1 had a red hat and the other one had a yellow shirt. They were probably in their 40s and they were skinny.

I slammed the backyard door and ran into the house. I grabbed my phone, ran out across the backyard B, ran across the street and ran to the park. I sat there hyperventilating and trying to gather myself.

I was sitting there and I didn't have any idea how long I had been out of class. I was afraid my teacher would call my parents and my parents would find out that I left school.

I realized I had no idea how long I had been gone or how long I had been in the park. I was so anxious and not thinking straight. I decided to go back to school.

I crossed the street guesthouse A's backyard door was closed. I crossed the street ran across the backyard B, into the house B, closed the front door and ran across the street to school.

I arrived in class late. Everyone was staring at me and my teacher pulled me to the side to talk to me. Before she could say anything I broke into tears. She calmed me down and I told her everything. She told me not to worry about being late with what just happened and she was very nice. My classmates were also very nice. I realize now I didn't have any friends.

I never went back to guesthouse B. I packed my stuff and went to stay with some classmates. I didn't even tell my parents that I had left. They came to visit me 2 weeks later and I told them I had been anxious about living alone. I realized now I should have told them everything.

I never went back to guesthouse B again. Neither did my parents. When they came to visit me they stayed in a hotel. I never went back to guesthouse B.

After this happened and I stayed with my classmates, I stopped going to my afternoon classes. We would walk home in groups and never alone.

2 weeks later the police found a buried body in the mountains of a high school girl who had been walking home alone.
