I work as a bartender in a well known restaurant in my city. It's a busy place and the best job I've ever had. I've worked here for over 5 years now.

I was working a late shift a couple of weeks ago. We get pretty much just after work people and some couples having dinner. Well, one woman walked in with what looked to be her mom and two little girls, maybe around 4 to 6. The woman told me she was sorry to bother me but that a restaurant close to ours had just closed and they were getting kicked out and had no where to go.

I told her it was no problem at all and she could stay here with her mom and kids and I'll get them something to eat.

They sat at a small table right next to the bar. The kids started being loud, jumping up and down, giggling etc. I'm used to kids and it was no big deal for me. The little girls were cute and their mom and grandma were friendly.

Well, after about half an hour the little girls started to get more restless. They started walking around the restaurant and I started to keep an eye on them. They were well behaved but it was getting late and the restaurant got more and more empty. The couple that was still here had left and I was starting to think they should be getting ready to leave too.

I asked the mother how they were going to get home and she told me they lived close by. I told her I can drive them home when they're done.

The mom looked at me for a moment. I thought maybe I was getting to close to her or something and I said "It's no problem really! I'm off now and I don't see any other way for you to get home"

She smiled and asked "Would you mind if my boyfriend came with us? He works at the other restaurant and he got fired because they were kicking us out"

I said "No problem at all. I just want to make sure the little girls get home safe."

She said "I know someone around here who might be able to drive him here. I'll give him the number and he can call him and he can come over here and we'll be off"

I said "That sounds good." And waited for them to leave.

I waited for close to 20 minutes and the restaurant got completely empty. The mom and kids left and I was alone.

I started cleaning the place and waited for them to come back. I was starting to get confused and wondered what was going on.

After about 40 minutes I started to worry. They haven't come back and it's late and they're kids. I tried to call the mom but her phone was off.

I started to think something was going on. I called one of my coworkers and asked her to come down here with me.

When we got there we saw the mom running down the road with the kids. The dad wasn't with them and he wasn't anywhere around.

We called the police and they came and took her away for fraud. Turned out the mom and kids were running from the law. They had been swindling people all over the country for years.

The boyfriend showed up at the restaurant a couple of hours later. I was shaking inside. I'd never been so scared in my life.

He came in with a big smile on his face and said to me "Thank you for letting me use your bathroom."

I told him "You need to leave." And he started laughing.

He said "I'm not leaving. You're not going to tell anyone who I am."

And he started walking towards me.

My coworker stepped in between us and said "You need to leave or the police will be coming after you."

He looked at her and said "You don't want to get involved in this. You don't want to help her."

And he pointed at her.

I told him to leave but he didn't listen to me.

He grabbed me and pushed me against the bar and I started screaming. Luckily the police showed up right away and they arrested him on the spot.

I haven't been able to sleep since that night. I feel like he's going to come after me at any moment. He was so calm and everything and it creeped me out. He wasn't acting insane or anything. He was just... calm. He was just waiting for the right moment to attack me.

I don't know what to do. I've never felt this way before. I'm afraid of him and I'm afraid of the police. I know they're going to come after me. I just don't know what to do.

Please help.
