It’s highly unlikely that the guy who invented the first wheel ever lived long enough to see his invention become popular.

I mean, even if cavemen had rocks and sticks, it still had to go through a lot of testing, and a wheel (especially made of wood) wouldn’t last long enough to be passed down to the next town. Plus, a wheel without any bearings can’t spin long. I’m sure we all learned in school that the wheel was invented around 4000-3500 BC, and that same wheel lasted for a really long time. But I can’t imagine a caveman with a piece of wood just sitting there with the motivation to make the first wheel.
