CMV: The James Webb Space Telescope is a colossal waste of money and the amount of money spent on is is an example of the horrible priorities of our government.

I'm fairly active on the front page and have been seeing countless posts of the recent pics of the cosmos from the James Webb Space Telescope. This is not a post to downplay the magnificence of these pictures and I do believe that the advancements we will make from the James Webb Space Telescope will be monumental. However, I do believe that the money spent to on the James Webb Space Telescope is a horrible example of government spending.<br><br>The James Webb Space Telescope has cost our government 8.7 billion dollars to date and there are still more upgrades and upcoming costs. I do believe it is in the best interest of humanity to explore space as it allows us to push the boundaries of what we know and perhaps one day we'll find out we are not alone. However, I think in a world of massive inequality, lack of access to clean water and food, and unaffordable healthcare, our government priorities are very misguided.
