What do you think about the "women don't owe you anything" sentiment?

Setting aside the fact that this phrase is often used to dismiss men who have been wronged by women, I don't think it is an entirely positive message. It kind of has this individualistic, "screw others" vibe and it is something which is very different from "men don't owe anything to women" which is more of a reaction to the unfair expectations that men have been burdened with.
