What happened to anime?

I've loved anime for my whole life, but over the past 3 years the quality and diversity have plummeted, and i'm worried about the direction the industry is going in.<br><br>Previously you had a few isekai, a few moe, a few epic shonen, a few slice of life, a few action, a few romance, a few ecchi, historical, period pieces, mystery, thriller....Now it seems like 90% of anime are chocolate cake moe, and the other 10% are ecchi harem bullshit.<br><br>What are your thoughts, and why do you think it is?
