Female manager left me absolutely speechless.

I work in a fast food chain, used to manage a restaurant myself but burnt out and just became regular staff. I did little more than the manager, but was paid the same, and didn't get blasted for every little thing. I have excellent multitasking and work ethic and problem solving skills. I'm male from a 3rd world country and I have the ego and confidence of an average girl, I get stuff done and I will not back down if I see something is wrong and will say it.

So in my new job, I'm working with a female manager, she was training me the whole time and after she thought I was ready to run a shift, she said it in front of all the staff. Next day, one of the new girls comes up to me and asks me if I can teach her because she has no idea what she is doing.

This lady, despite having 3 years of experience was very...unaware. She told me I was getting her back for being late, when I was an hour early. I told her that my previous manager never did anything like that, she said she was too nice and that doesn't work in this kind of environment and I should be more strict.

I get a call from her the day after, saying I was being too lenient and giving too many breaks away and not being strict enough. "Get tougher! You have a job to do, and if those girls don't do it, they are fired! You can't do it all!" So I toughen up the next day, enforce some rules stricter and I am suddenly an asshole. "You used to be so nice! Why does it matter so much if I go behind the till and make a drink? The fridge is dirty, do it yourself!".

A few days ago, she tells me "You are exceeding my expectations", then gets stormed by one of the staff, telling her I am being fucking strict and not understanding, "You used to be so nice and you are so mean now! when the counters are dirty I know I should clean it, I am just tired and I am doing it anyway, don't I deserve a break? You are treating me like a child! Why do you care so much about the storage? It's just cups and lids, why not share your time in there to get stuff?" I was like...I have work to do in multiple places, I'm exhausted, I haven't had a single break, we're short staffed and the line is so fucking long people are complaining left and right. Next things I know, the girl gets sent home, and she comes back to work the next day and the manager is back to square one, not liking me.

Today: I open, I am technically in charge but she says she is gonna come in to help. She did that before and just stood in the back office, moving things around, or left early, or handed out my tips to the other staff. So I'm strong, I can multitask, I will deal with all the opening and closing and shift management. I run the shift, everything goes so smoothly, there is no line at any point, even the peak hours were handled super well, nothing for the next shift to worry about. She comes, and is clearly despondent, looking at every little thing, and I tell her that I saved her some time and got the stockroom organised and cleaned up. She looks at the clock and says "You're on early! We're not closing early today!" I tell her, "We closed an hour ago", she is speechless, looking at her clock that says 11.02, and then she looks at the side door that the police locked up for her, and then we went inside, and closed up, the manager's office door right behind her. She didn't even know I closed the store up for her.

And she just said "Well, thank you for the smooth shift" and then shut up.

I'm not gloating, I don't wanna brag, I got stuff done, so what? She sees herself as super significant, like she's this diamond in a sea of useless, worthless people, and I'm just a worker bee, doing what has to be done, but she's the leader, the one in control. She's so happy I'm the first one to volunteer for extra work or for filling in a shift for someone sick, she thinks I'm so loyal to her and the job, like a dog or something. She gets stormed by several employees for being so strict and then will fucking cry about "You are the only one that gets me" when I talk to her. She wouldn't even let me work double shifts because "I can't have your energy fading away" meaning she needs my energy to keep working efficiently.

I'm not even a manager, I don't even care about this company. They don't even pay me well for the amount of work I do, I don't get a raise, I get a few extra hours here and there, but my salary went up 0.3% last year, and she was like "So happy for you!" 0.3% in a 35% inflation economy? I got paid less last year, but thanks for your blessings, sure.
