Germany has announced plans to shut down all remaining coal-fired power plants by 2030, as part of the country's efforts to cut carbon emissions and combat climate change.<br><br>The move will see the country reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the energy sector by 65% by 2030, with the goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2045.<br><br>About 15 gigawatts (GW) of brown coal production capacity and 14 GW of hard coal production capacity will be shut down by 2030, said German Economy Minister Robert Habeck on Tuesday.
