My father (a very conservative man) had the most wholesome reaction to me wearing a Niqab when traveling to Saudi Arabia and welcomed my decision with open arms. I couldn’t be happier.

My father is one of the most conservative men you will ever meet, he is completely against the idea of girls wearing the headscarf and Niqab (or Burka). He even discouraged me to wear the Hijab when I started covering myself out of my own will.
Long story short, I had to travel to Saudi Arabia for work last week and my father was very happy as he knows that it’s a big achievement. But it didn’t take him long to realize that I will have to start wearing a Niqab soon enough.
He was very sad to see all my new changes, and it took him a while to understand that I will be wearing the Niqab just for the duration of my stay in Saudi and that I will remove it as soon as I return.
It was funny to see my father’s level of excitement when I showed him the different colors I have purchased as he loves to coordinate outfits.
Thanks to everyone for the kind comments, I couldn’t be happier to see so many people liking my story.
I see a lot of curious people asking about my father’s opinion on the Niqab, and why he doesn’t like it.
I think it might be the cultural differences as a lot of people in my country don’t like the idea of covering your face and they believe that true beauty shines from within.
I personally believe that the father’s reluctance had nothing to do with religion but rather with cultural background.
