I'm still getting chills thinking about this encounter.

It was a few years ago. I live in a high-rise apartment in a big city with 3 balconies. It was a Saturday evening, and I was sitting in my living room reading a book. At around 11:00 PM, I hear loud banging coming from the balcony next to mine (which is the 3rd balcony, one floor up from mine). I looked up from my book and see this guy, dressed in a black jacket and jeans. He's banging his head against the wall separating our 2 balconies, and he's saying things like "I'm sorry" over and over. I figure he's probably just having some kind of mental episode, so I just watch from my window. He's banging his head for a few minutes, then he just stops and walks away. I go back to reading my book.

About 15 minutes later, the banging starts again. This time it's more intermittent, but I can hear him walking around his balcony, banging his fists against the wall, and even throwing things against the wall. It's around 11:30 PM now, so I'm getting a little annoyed at this point. I decide to take a break from my book and go outside to my balcony.

I step outside and see the guy is now standing at the railing of his balcony, looking over at me. I give him a stern look and say "What's wrong with you? Why are you banging your head?" He just looks at me with this blank expression, then suddenly starts banging his head again. I'm kind of freaked out at this point, and I start to go back inside, but then I hear him whisper "I want to meet you." I stop in my tracks and look at him again, this time more freaked out. I turn around and go back inside and shut my balcony door, then call the landlord. They tell me they'll send someone over to deal with it.

I wait for 10 minutes, and I hear the banging stop. I figure the landlord must have shown up, so I decide to go back outside to my balcony again. I step outside and see the guy is now standing at my balcony door, staring at me through the glass. He's got this creepy grin on his face and is rubbing his hands together, almost like he's excited to see me. I scream, and I run inside and shut my balcony door again. I don't hear from the landlord until the next morning.

When they show up to deal with him, they tell me that they've never seen this guy around before, and he didn't have an apartment in the building. They also found a car parked in the lot with the engine running, and the guy was sitting in the drivers seat. He didn't say a word to them the whole time.

I'm still a bit creeped out thinking about it, and I haven't forgotten about it either.
