So I am an Egyptian who found solace in a utopian world that has its own history, its own legend, mythology and modern world, I found comfort in such world after I had a big disappointment in my own country and the world at large, it all started when I was just an elementary school student at age of 9 or 10, it all started one summer day when I was on a school trip in my homeland's capital, I saw a very peculiar thing there, I was in our homeland's museum and I saw the sheer amount of ancient Egyptian remain there, I couldn't help but feel wonder and awe, I was like "wow, the ancient Egyptians truly were amazing, it feels so good to be an Egyptian" I had a very positive feeling there, I was so proud of being from the land of the pharaohs, as I was about to board the bus, I read a small plaque that said "Islamic Republic of Egypt" I didn't give much thought to it, thinking that its like how the United States of America, I didn't know that there was a republic, even though I read so many times since I was in grade school, the mention of the republic of Egypt in history classes, I didn't pay much attention to it because I was born in different country and I was raised in a different country, so I didn't know anything about Egypt at all until I was 8, I had no idea even about the country that I was born in, I didn't even know that Egypt is an Arab country, I was so oblivious about all of these things, I didn't even know anything about my homeland until I was 4 years old, and even then, I didn't know anything about my homeland, I didn't know where it is located, I didn't know even about the language of my homeland, my family never talked about it, so I didn't know anything about it at all, I was completely oblivious about it, I felt like a stranger even when I visited the country that I was born in at age of 8, I didn't know even that the political system of Egypt was republic until I was 10, so I read that plaque, and I didn't give much thought of it, I didn't know what republic meant, even though I read about it many times in history classes, I didn't pay much attention to it, because I didn't have much attention or enthusiasm to it, I didn't know what the difference between a republic and a monarchy, kingdom, empire, or federation, I didn't have much knowledge about it at all, I didn't even know about the difference between monarchical or republican system, I thought that republic meant that there isn't a king or even a president, I didn't know anything about these things, I didn't have much knowledge, so I didn't pay much attention to it, I didn't know about anything, I thought that even though there is a republic, since it is Egypt, it still feels so good to be an Egyptian, I felt pride and joy from seeing all my homeland's history, even though there is a republic, I felt proud to be an Egyptian, it feels so good to be from such great country, I was so oblivious, I didn't know much, I didn't even know about the difference between monarchy and republic.

Fast forward another 6 years or so, I graduated college, I got my first job and I found out that my homeland is actually a country called Egyptistan, it is a country that consists of 4 regions, or provinces, the northern region is called Egyptia, the western region is called Nubia, the eastern region is called Dakhla, and the southern region is called Kush, and the capital of Egyptistan is Alexandria.

I felt confusion, I was like "wait, what? Isn't my homeland a country called Egypt?" I thought that Egyptistan was actually Egypt, and it is just a different name for Egypt, I even thought that Egyptistan was an ancient name for Egypt, I didn't even think at all, I just assumed it without giving much thought to it, I didn't have much knowledge, I didn't know much at all.

I was on a business trip in my homeland's capital, so I had some free time, I decided to visit my homeland's museum, I saw the sheer amount of ancient Egyptian remain there, I didn't feel that much pride or joy from it, I felt a bit of pride and joy, but not that much, it was different from the first time, it feels so weird to be in the museum of Egyptistan, I read the plaque, it said "Islamic Republic of Egyptistan" I was like "wait, isn't my homeland a country called Egypt?"
