I don't think anyone understands how close we are.

I've been a passive observer for years.

I remember when GPT-1 came out and thinking it was impressive. I was super excited, but no one else seemed to care. They didn't think it was that big of a deal.

I remember every time a new thing came out, like DALL-E, Bard, Claude, Gemini, Persephone, Midjourney, etc. And I would think "wow, this is amazing." And everyone else would think it was the next google, or "AI that's actually impressive." Not understanding where we had come from.

The people who don't think about AI everyday don't understand how quickly it's going. They don't realize that we went from GPT-1 to GPT-4 in 4 years. That we went from nothing to DALL-E in 2 years.

The next 2 years are going to be incredible. Humanity is going to change so much. And I don't care about the people who say "but we aren't actually close". They don't understand. I know we are close.

Edit: I didn't expect this to blow up. For those talking about multi agent systems, I know that's where we need to go next. I agree.

Edit 2: For those saying I'm spreading hopium, I'm just excited. I think it's okay to be excited, even if it's hopium.
