Creep who claims he’s my neighbor

I live in an apartment, and my bedroom is literally right next to the bathroom. It’s a bit weird. It’s more weird because there’s a shower. And it’s a shower right next to my bedroom. It’s not an ideal living arrangement.<br><br>I live on the 3rd floor, and I have a small balcony. I like to sit on it sometimes. One time, when I was sitting on the balcony, I saw a man standing on the fire escape below. He was staring at me, so I waved. He smiled and waved back.<br><br>That was it. No big deal. A few days later, I was walking back to my apartment, and I saw the same man standing by the stairs. He smiled and I said, “Hi, we waved before.”<br><br>And that’s how we started talking. We talked for like 20 minutes. I asked him where he lived, and he said he didn’t live anywhere near me. I asked where he lived, and he said he was homeless.<br><br>I didn’t mind chatting with him. He seemed nice, so I didn’t mind.<br><br>The next day, I was walking down the hallway, and he was walking up the stairs. He smiled and said, “Hi, I’m your neighbor.”<br><br>I laughed. I thought he was joking. I said, “No, you’re not. I live on the 3rd floor, and you live on the ground.”<br><br>He said, “I’m on the ground, but you live next door.”<br><br>I was confused. “I live in an apartment, not a house. This is just one building.”<br><br>He said, “You live right next to me. I’m just on the other side of that wall.”<br><br>I was shocked. I asked him, “So you’re saying my bedroom is next to your bedroom?”<br><br>He said, “Your bedroom is next to my bathroom.”<br><br>I said, “I don’t think so. If that were true, I wouldn’t be able to sleep.”<br><br>He said, “You’re a heavy sleeper. You wouldn’t even notice me coming into your bedroom.”<br><br>I laughed. I said, “I don’t think so. I’m not a heavy sleeper. And I would definitely notice if someone came into my bedroom.”<br><br>He said, “You’re very trusting. I’m just glad you’re so trusting. You won’t mind if I come into your bedroom sometime.”<br><br>I laughed. I said, “I don’t think so.”<br><br>He said, “I don’t think you understand. You live right next to me. It would be very convenient for us to just hang out in each other’s bedrooms from time to time.”<br><br>I laughed. I said, “I don’t think so.”<br><br>He said, “I don’t think you understand how easy it would be for me to just walk into your bedroom whenever I want.”<br><br>I laughed. I said, “I don’t think so.”<br><br>And that was it. I didn’t talk to him again after that. I was afraid of him, and I didn’t want to make things worse. I didn’t want to give him the wrong idea. I was just glad that we didn’t really live next to each other.
