You guys do realise that if we just somehow managed to ban and confiscate every gun tomorrow, we'd just be giving a free reign to the states and large corporations to oppress us?

Banning guns would just remove them from the hands of the common people. The states and large corporations will always have access to them, no matter what laws are in place. Hell, even if you managed to remove guns from the states, they'd still have access to far more advanced firepower anyway, like drones and fighter jets.

In case you haven't noticed, the world is steadily moving towards hyper-capitalism, where corporations have more and more power over our lives. If you think the government or corporations would really care about a ban on guns and be unable to skirt around it, then I have a bridge to sell you.

Furthermore, not only is banning guns essentially impossible unless you live in a small island nation like the UK or Japan, but even if you managed to pull it off, you'd just be making it easier for the states and corporations to take advantage of you. How do you think these corporate elites see you? Do you think they're worried about what the average citizen thinks?

You guys talk about how guns are more likely to be used to kill the owner than to defend them. Well, that's not really the point of widespread gun ownership. The point is not to defend yourself against a random criminal once every few years. It's to stop an armed revolution from being impossible.
