I stole a small grocery cart to put my dirtily laundry in, I was a nice girl to the cashiers and bought some stuff, and now I’m frightened for my safety and the safety of my property.

A little back story, I was a grocery store manager for a grocery store chain owned by the evil Walmart Empire. I was not a very happy employee and left as quickly as I could. After reviewing their hand book for employees, the policy is to let the carts go. I assure you they are not uplifting them. I’ve been doing this for the past two years, I’m not the only one, I’ve never been approached by anyone and I’m not just talking about myself, many carts get taken and are used for various things. <br><br>I had to go to my laundromat tonight and the laundry cart was taken by some rude guy, so I did what I usually do. I drive out to the parking lot, and grab my cart, I put my hoodie up and don’t make eye contact and quickly walk back to the car. <br><br>It was a lot of clothes and with my luck, my cart was stolen, so I told myself screw it. I grabbed a cart (with a broken wheel) and quickly took it to my car. I went back inside to buy some groceries to replace what was lost after someone (I think it was a cart pusher) turned them into the lost and found. <br><br>I was a nice girl, and I tipped the cart pusher who helped me with my laundry, and the bagger asked me about the cart. I told him I was using it to take some stuff to my car. He didn’t find it weird, just stared at the cart with a broken wheel.<br><br>I got home, and I’m so frightened, I’ve never stole anything in my life (shoplifted as a teen but that was the extend of it.) I’m going to move it into my garage so no one sees it but, I’m just so frightened that someone is gonna come to my house and arrest me to take me to jail. <br><br>So all and all tonight was a good night but, also a frightening night.<br><br>Edit: I just want to say, thank you to everyone who commented, I have had a good laugh and I’m not as afraid as I was at first.
