In the spirit of this effort, we’d like to address some of the most common concerns raised since the announcement of the Tavor 7.

The Tavor 7 vs. the Tavor X95

These two rifles are distinctly different in terms of their design and intended use. The Tavor X95 was originally designed for the IDF, and is thus tailored to meet the needs of this demographic. It is essentially a bullpup kit for the M4, offering an upgrade in accuracy and usability when compared to the standard M4. The Tavor X95 has been designed to be easily converted from 5.56 to 9mm, and the entire upper receiver can be swapped out in under a minute. The X95 has an integrated CH, uses a two-stage trigger, and runs off of mil-spec furniture. Commonly shared concerns stem from the X95’s piston system, fore-end temperature, and bolt catch. The Tavor 7 has addressed these concerns by using a regulated short-stroke piston system, offering a free-floating fore-end, and using an ambidextrous, two-stage, mil-spec charging handle and forward-assist. In general, the Tavor 7 has improved on many of the features of the Tavor X95, and is tailored to meet the needs of the US market and the modern sporting rifle.
