Should we pay reparations for past misdeeds?

One of the most controversial issues in contemporary political philosophy. The issue of reparations for past misdeeds committed by some nations on others. The usual examples are reparations from European nations to their former colonies, reparations from the United States to African Americans, reparations from Japan to Korea, etc.
