We as kids watched Karate Kid, Parent Trap, Miracle on 34th street, and many other movies that were remakes (and most without even seeing the originals first). We knew they were remakes, but still enjoyed them.

Now when I hear people complain about all the remakes today, I can't help but remember as a kid we had the same thing, and it didn't corpse the film industry.

Edit: Grammar and spelling
