There is a lot of controversy surrounding the new Call of Duty that released a few days ago. In looking at the game files, it doesn’t seem like they took the approach that BFV did and completely remove all of the controversy. It seems like they took the approach of rebranding. In the files you can see that you can unlock and find in the loot boxes guns and attachments that are historically accurate.

For example, you can get an M1928 w/ stick, a M1941 Johnson m1941 with M1944 barrel, an STG-44 with a FG-42 stock, and a FG-42Z. There is also an invader event that includes invader SMGS, assault rifles, and a few other invader themed guns.

Of the attachments, you can get a MG-42 drum mag for the MG-42, and a M1911A1 for obvious reasons, you can get a Mauser C96 as an invader pistol.

I haven’t gotten into the game yet to have an opinion on it, but I figured some of you might be interested in knowing that those guns are available in the game, some of us might need to wait a bit to get them.
