Nalanda University destroyed rising in 1193AD

Nalanda University was destroyed by Bakhtiar Khilji <br>"Bakhtiyar Khalji, a military general of Qutb-ud-Din Aibak, attacked Nalanda during his conquest of Bihar in 1197-1204 AD. The attack was described in the biography of another Muslim conqueror, Minhaj-i-Siraj, in his book Tabaqat-i Nasiri, completed in 1260 AD. Minhaj-i-Siraj noted that thousands of monks were burned alive or beheaded as prisons."
