I've never been as terrified of someone as I was of this guy, I'm still not over it, to this day. I know it's been years since it happened, but that one guy still gives me nightmares. He was a strange man, but what makes it even more terrifying is that he knew exactly where I lived. And I know that he probably lives very close by.

So, one summer, when I was about 16-17, I worked as a babysitter. I lived with my parents and younger brother at the time, in a house with a big yard and a fence around it. One day, I had to babysit my neighbors kids. The mother had just left for a week-long vacation and the father wasn't home very often. He was a strange man, always yelling at the neighbors and complaining about the kids being loud.

I was already there for a few hours and the kids were asleep when I heard a knock on the door. I got up to answer it and was surprised to see my neighbors dad, he usually wasn't home. I asked him what he needed, but he just mumbled and said he needed to talk to me for a minute. I was already uneasy, but I thought it was weird. He wasn't home very often and he didn't know me very well.

He told me that he needed to talk to me because he didn't trust his wife. He said that he was afraid that she was cheating on him. He said that she had been acting strange and distant. I just nodded and said that I wouldn't worry about it because he didn't know her very well. I was trying to be polite, but I was getting more and more uncomfortable by the minute.

I tried to ask him what he wanted to say, but he just kept muttering to himself. I was starting to feel more and more uneasy. I just told him that he was probably imagining things, but he just kept repeating the same thing over and over again. He kept repeating that he didn't trust her and that she was cheating on him. I was starting to get scared and I just wanted him to leave.

I was still holding the door open, but then I saw a black car pulling up to the house. The man noticed it and just shook his head. He then turned back to me and said that it was probably his wife. He said that she probably wanted to make it look like she was cheating on him, by picking him up in her car. I just shook my head and said that he was probably imagining things. He then turned around and left.

I was terrified. I locked the door and called the cops, but they never came. I didn't even bother to wait for them to show up. I just got in my car and left. I didn't want to stay there for a minute longer than I had to. I was still terrified, so I drove home. When I got home, I called my mom and told her what had happened. She was also terrified, so we called the cops. They never showed up, so we called the neighbors and told them what had happened. They didn't seem to care and just said that we were overreacting.

The next day, I went to the neighbors house to apologize. I was still trying to apologize for what had happened. They just laughed and said that he was just joking around. They said that he was a jokester and that he always played pranks on people. I just shook my head and left. I never went back to that house again.

Months later, I was walking home from school one day. I was walking down the street when I saw the black car from that day. I was still terrified, so I just ran as fast as I could to my house. When I got home, I called my mom and told her what had happened. She was also terrified, so we called the cops. They never showed up and I just locked all my doors and windows.

I still live in that same house, and I still have nightmares about that guy. I don't know if he ever came to my house again, or if he's still watching me. I just know that he probably still lives close by, and that makes me terrified.
