This is the first post I’m making on here and it’s not exactly a scary story but I was thinking about this experience and I wanted to get it out. I’ve always thought of myself as a fairly good judge of character and I was a very active listener in my life. I was 19 at the time and working in a retail store. I met this lady and I will never forget it. She was 60’s and came in the store to look at the new shipment that came in that day. She had long grey hair and she looked a bit rough and had a bit of an attitude. I thought to myself, this lady seems rough and I don’t like her at first glance.

As I was listening to her talk I noticed she had a slight British accent. I didn’t really think much of it. As the day went on I noticed she was wearing some really expensive jewelry, and it was all old stuff. She was wearing a large gold watch, a gold chain necklace, and she was wearing a diamond ring on her finger that I thought was a really nice ring. She mentioned to me that she got it from her ex husband. I mentioned that she had a really nice ring on her hand and she said it was a family heirloom. I asked her about it and she told me it was given to her by her deceased husband. I asked her if she minded if I took her ring and she said yes, I would kill you if you tried to take it from me.

I was taken aback by her comment, but she was also being very nice and kind to me and I just brushed it off. I told her she had a nice ring and she told me I could hold it but I couldn’t take it. I said of course and she told me that the ring was her late husband’s mother’s ring and it was really important to her. I told her I understood and she thanked me for understanding. As the day went on I got to know her better and she seemed like a nice person. She seemed kind, but she was also very rough. She was kind of rough looking but she had a very beautiful inside.

She told me she lived in the UK and she was born in the UK and she moved to Canada a few years ago to be closer to her family. I asked her if she minded me asking about her past and she said she didn’t mind. She told me that she was born in London and she grew up in a very rough area of London. She said she was a teenager in the 60’s and she got married at 18 to her first husband. He was also from a very rough area of London. She told me he was very abusive to her and that she was trapped in the marriage. She said that she got divorced from him and she moved to the countryside to start a new life. She said that she met her second husband in the countryside and they were married for 30 years. She said that she was married to him for over 40 years of her life. She said she got divorced from him and she moved to Canada to be closer to her family. She said that she had two sisters that lived in Canada and she wanted to be closer to them. She said she got here a few years ago and she was glad that she did.

She asked me if I would like to go for a walk with her. I asked her what kind of walk and she said a walk to the lake. She told me that she loved walking and she loved the lake and I told her that I would love to walk with her. We walked together and she was telling me stories about her past. I was listening to her and I thought to myself, this lady seems nice. I’m glad that I gave her a chance and I was happy that she was feeling good. As we were walking we got to the lake and we were looking at the beautiful view. She asked me if I would like to have dinner with her. I asked her where we could go and she said we could go to a restaurant near the lake. I said that would be nice and we went to the restaurant.

We had dinner together and she was talking about her life and I was listening to her.
